The 5 places to try today while celebrating “National Cheese Lovers Day”

This week is already special for the Ann Arbor food scene because of Ann Arbor Restaurant Week, but today makes it even better. Today is National Cheese Lovers Day (which I think most people are) and if you’re looking for a place to celebrate, take a look below to see my choices on where to go in Ann Arbor.

1.Spencer

Spencer is Ann Arbor’s newest cheese bar downtown. Funded on a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $30,000 in under a month, Spencer is one of Ann Arbor’s hottest restaurants today.  You can read more about Spencer over at The Ann Arbor News.

2. Morgan and York

Morgan and York specializes in food and drink produced by artisans – the people who make the wine are usually growing their own fruit and those making the cheese are typically making it from the milk of their own herds.

3. White Lotus Farms

Located just outside of downtown Ann Arbor, White Lotus Farms provides fresh produce, farmstead cheeses artisan breads and more. A perfect place to pick something up to eat at home tonight.

4. Zingerman’s Creamery

Let’s us help you put together your holiday treats. #zingermans #cheesetray #pate A photo posted by Zingerman’s Creamery (@zingermanscreamery) on

Zingerman’s Creamery is another successful business of the famous Zingerman Ann Arbor name. If cheese isn’t really your thing, you should still swing by there today and try some of their amazing gelato!

5. GrillCheezerie

Now that it’s so cold out, warm up with a grilled #cheese & #soup! #food

Want to celebrate National Cheese Lovers day in a style different then fancy cheese plates? For dinner tonight head to Grillcheezerie, Ann Arbor’s specialty grilled cheese joint. I recommend the “s’mac & cheese.”

Whether you celebrate National Cheese Lovers Day today or not, make sure you get out on the town this week to celebrate Ann Arbor’s Restaurant Week! Go somewhere you haven’t been to yet, try something new and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Is there a specialty cheese bar/shop/restaurant in the area that we missed and you think should be on the list? Let us know!
