Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Ann Arbor, MI from K-12 and beyond, graduating from the University of Michigan with a BA in Art History. Later, my family and I lived in Japan where we taught English before moving back home.

What do you enjoy the most about living in the Greater Ann Arbor area?

The diverse population of friends, family, and neighbors that bring so much good food, great company, and amazing cultural experiences to our community!

Tell us a bit about yourself and family.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 21 years and we have three beautiful daughters, including an EMU graduate and twins who are 4th graders at Allen Elementary. We are so lucky that both sets of grandparents are here in the area to help out.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Serving as a Rotarian (especially on the Club bowling team); volunteering at the kids’ school, and joining my family in their hobbies which include MTG, Girl Scouts and theater. Honestly, if I actually have an hour of ‘spare time,’ you’ll find me hiding out in a bookstore café!

How long have you been a real estate agent?

Since 2004.

What do you like best about working in real estate?

The opportunities for teaching. I always thought I would be an educator and luckily my career gives me the chance to do that. No matter the transaction or experience level of the client, there are ways for me to expand my own and my clients’ knowledge.

Describe your favorite memory of working with a client.

There are so many! I have a collection of hilarious stories, because real estate is full of surprises. You can’t be a successful agent without a good sense of humor.

What is the one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home today?

Buying a house is a lot like dating. You probably shouldn’t marry the first one, and you’d better really get to know them before jumping in. You might have to kiss a few frogs, but you’ll know it when you find “The One.” Also, it’s ok to stay single until you do!
