Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town in Indiana called Hobart which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago. Growing up in Northwest Indiana provided the best of all worlds. I could enjoy the benefits of a small town or be in a major city within 40 minutes.
What do you enjoy the most about living in the Greater Ann Arbor area?
Ann Arbor is a diverse and vibrant community that offers so many opportunities to its residents. There is always something interesting and fun to partake in. Being a resident of Plymouth and working in Ann Arbor, I find that both places have such a strong sense of community involvement. The best part is that there’s never a lack of great food around the corner.
Tell us a bit about yourself and family.
My husband Bo and I have three daughters. That being said, there is never a dull moment in our house. We are very active in sports and are big movie buffs.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
When I can catch some downtime, I love to read. Getting lost in a book has always relaxed me and taken me away from everyday stress. A good movie is always on my list as well!
What do you like best about working in real estate?
Working in real estate can be quite challenging most days. The best part for me is that everyday is different! Meeting new people on a daily basis is something I enjoy. On the top of my list I have to say is the amazing group of people I work with at Berkshire Hathaway Snyder & Company!
Describe your favorite memory of working with a client.
My favorite memory is working with first time home buyers. Watching a couple go through a home as their excitement grows is a great feeling to be a part of. This takes me back to when I was a first time home buyer. Knowing that I am a small part of a new start for a couple makes me feel happy.
What is the one tip you have for someone looking to buy or sell a home today?
If you are a buyer in today’s market, the best advice I have is to be ready to move fast if you find a home you love. For example, be prepared with all your finances so that if a home comes on the market that you love, you can act on it and be able to get the home of your dreams. Also, don’t get discouraged if you don’t find a home the first or second time out with your Realtor. I am a firm believer that your home is out there waiting for you.
