Each month Ann Arbor is featured in “Best of” lists of all types across the web. Our great city has been getting so much recognition recently that it is hard to keep up with what award Ann Arbor (or Ann Arbor based business) has won recently. We’ve searched the internet and pulled together all of the lists we could find for April that Ann Arbor was mentioned in.
So next time someone asks you “Why do you like living in Ann Arbor?” Now you have seven reasons to show them, and that’s just for April.

#7 in Nerdwallet’s “Best Cities for Women in the Workforce 2016”
Across the nation the workforce participation rate for women is 10 percent lower than it is for men. But in Ann Arbor the difference is only 3.6 percent. This statistic is one reason why Ann Arbor earned the No.7 spot in Nerdwallet’s list.

Ann Arbor’s FestiFools event was featured as the date idea for romantic couples in the state of Michigan to attend. USA Today said “Its a great place for acting goofy with a date.”
#9 in realtor.com’s “America’s 20 Hottest Markets for Real Estate in April 2016”
With University of Michigan, a new Google campus and more startups forming in Ann Arbor, national interest in moving to our city continues to increase.

Zingerman’s Deli is featured as a “must visit” destination along the likes of restaurants in New Orleans and Chicago in this Forbes article.
The Chop House featured in Thrillist’s “Where to Find the Best Steaks in Metro Detroit”
“When you think of the standby steakhouse, this is inevitably the place that you turn to.” Also mentioned is grabbing dessert downstairs at fan favorite La Dolce Vita.

Ann Arbor is the only city in Michigan to have two different restaurants featured in Awesome Mitten’s list.
Blank Slate takes “Michigan’s Best Ice Cream Shop” in Spoon Universities “Best Ice Cream Shop in Every State”
“Their flavors are meticulously crafted with only the best ingredients to make unique flavor combinations that will certainly not disappoint.” With warm weather coming and summer almost here, you have to visit Michigan’s best ice cream shop. But be forewarned, if it’s a nice day when you go, you may be waiting in line for a bit.
